Job summary

Century Mold Co. Inc. in Rochester, NY, seeks a Scheduling & Planning Specialist to join Operations Support.

You will plan production using MRP, monitor orders, and adjust scheduling data to meet customer needs while optimizing materials for Rochester manufacturing. Responsibilities include managing WIP with Kan Ban, coordinating with Purchasing to minimize inventory, and analyzing market conditions to forecast material availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 1–3 years scheduling experience or training.
• Proficiency with MRP system and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to learn new software as needed.

Responsibilities

• Use MRP to plan production schedules that minimize finished goods and meet customer needs.
• Monitor customer orders and respond to changes, updating planning data to support Rochester operations.
• Use Kan Ban to manage WIP and finished goods not using System MRP.
• Work with Purchasing to establish minimum quantities to reduce inventory while ensuring timely orders.
• Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability for just‑in‑time needs.
• Conduct a weekly materials meeting to report material conflicts.
• Track progress of production schedules and provide feedback.
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure press availability for preventive maintenance.
• Collaborate with Process Set‑Up to monitor set‑up times and adjust MRP accordingly.
• Be an expert resource for collecting information, analyzing data, and preparing reports for managers, customers, and suppliers.
