Job summary

Crown Holdings, Inc. in Bradley, IL is seeking a Production Planning Manager to coordinate the manufacturing operations' planning, inventory, warehousing and distribution for finished goods.

You will report to the Plant Manager and drive master scheduling, capacity planning and continuous improvement across the site. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of production planning or logistics experience, with manufacturing exposure and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, operations research, or related area.
• 5+ years of experience in production planning, logistics or materials handling.
• 3+ years in a manufacturing environment.
• Approximately 10% travel.
• Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support.
• Packaging industry experience (preferred).
• Certificates in APICS, CPSM, Six Sigma, and Lean Manufacturing (preferred).
• Knowledge of AS400/iBMI (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing Master Schedule requirements from demand forecast, plant capacity, and historical data
• Interact with production and sales personnel to update and advise of progress and new developments
• Manage volume and manufacturing location changes as needed to meet customer requirements
• Monitor inventories of raw material, work in process, and finished goods in an effort to minimize costs and achieve plant inventory goals
• Oversee development and maintenance of tools that enhance production planning capability
• Conduct audits for compliance in department standards and practices
• Assure inside sales and plants utilize the 'system' through on site auditing and clear tracking metrics
• Maintain accurate "needs attention" inventory and implement measures for improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement through training and strategic planning
• Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned
