Job summary

Union Electric Steel Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented Production Planner to join our Supply Chain Group based in Burgettstown, PA. This role links the plant floor with office operations, ensuring schedules align with demand and capabilities.

You will manage routings in Oracle, coordinate material shipments, and support melt shop planning while maintaining strong communication across teams. The position requires plant-floor presence in PPE and occasional overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; an associate or bachelor’s in business, supply chain, or related field is a plus.
• Sharp attention to detail is essential.
• Solid Excel skills and ability to learn a new ERP system.
• Clear communication across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain production routings in Oracle - assign lot numbers, build job batches, and apply orders to the schedule.
• Schedule the weekly melt requirements aligning production capabilities and customer demand.
• Process receiving reports and consumable orders, including requisitions and batch closeout.
• Coordinate material shipments between UES facilities and outside suppliers and distribute schedules and notices to the affected departments.
• Partner with Production Planning management and plant operations to ensure key priorities are understood and followed.
• Learn the shipping and receiving process to backup coverage as needed.
• Troubleshoot job and batch problems with planning, the melt shop, and operations.
