Job summary

Elmet Technologies in Lewiston, Maine, seeks a Production Planner to join the Logistics & Planning team. You will develop and maintain production schedules that align customer demand with manufacturing capacity, material availability, and priorities, ensuring on-time delivery and efficient use of resources.

You will collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, Sales, and Finance to identify constraints, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of production planning experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP data, and data maintenance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Bachelor's or associate degree in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain production schedules for make-to-stock and make-to-order products.
• Evaluate demand, production capacity, material availability, and labor requirements to establish manufacturing priorities.
• Create, release, and manage production work orders while monitoring progress against schedules.
• Identify schedule risks, material shortages, capacity constraints, and develop recovery plans as needed.
• Maintain accurate ERP/MRP data, including inventory balances, bills of material, routings, and product master information.
• Partner with Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Commercial teams to resolve scheduling issues and support on-time delivery.
• Analyze production and inventory data to identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce lead times, and optimize resource utilization.
• Support continuous improvement of factory planning processes, production reporting, and manufacturing performance.
