Job summary

MECALUX in Melrose Park, IL seeks a Sr. Planning Engineer to lead production planning across U.S. manufacturing plants and distribution centers. This role partners with Production, Sales, Shipping, Engineering and Management to optimize schedules and ensure on-time delivery.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Engineering (Master's preferred) with 5–10 years in a similar role, and SAP experience is required. On-site with up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in a similar role or related field.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials according to the master schedule.
• Schedule, review, follow, and control production plans in SAP across US and Mexico sites.
• Participate in daily Plant Management meetings to track progress and deadlines.
• Meet daily manufacturing and shipping goals while reducing scrap.
• Analyze shipping capacities by location and product to meet lead times.
• Adjust production schedules to delays or interruptions to meet deadlines.
• Recommend methods to improve material utilization and reduce downtime.
• Communicate delays with Sales that may affect lead times.
• Coordinate with Sales, Shipping, Plants, Engineering and Management to report daily production and shipping.
• Work to reduce obsolete inventory and perform other duties as needed.
