Job summary

Interlake Mecalux, Inc. seeks a Sr. Planning Engineer at our Melrose Park, IL headquarters to lead production and logistics planning across U.S. plants and distribution centers. You will collaborate with Production, Sales, Shipping, Engineering and Management to optimize schedules and ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires 5–10 years of experience, a Bachelor’s in Engineering (Master’s preferred), and on-site work in Melrose Park with travel to other facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Master’s Degree preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in a similar position or related experience.
• On-site work at Melrose Park, IL headquarters.
• Willingness to travel 10–20% to other U.S. facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials according to the master schedule.
• Schedule, review, follow, and control production plans in SAP with US/Mexico plants and distribution centers.
• Participate in the daily Plant Management meeting to determine progress and dates.
• Ensure daily manufacturing and shipping goals are met and contribute to reducing scrap.
• Analyze shipping capacities and match workload to resources to meet lead times.
• Analyze delays and adjust production schedule; communicate delays to sales.
• Communicate with Sales/Shipping/Plants/Engineering/Management (Barcelona) to update goals and report daily tons manufactured and shipped.
• Work to reduce obsolete inventory and perform other duties as needed.
