Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a seasoned Purchasing professional to manage procurement of key materials, parts, supplies and equipment, optimizing price, delivery and terms in line with established policies.

You will review requisitions, solicit quotes, select suppliers, issue POs, and drive supplier relationships to meet cost, availability and inventory goals; contribute to cross-functional teams and cost improvement initiatives across the business.

Qualifications

• Requires BS/BA in a related discipline and 5–8 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
• Certification may be required in some areas; MS/MA can substitute for some experience.
• Must be able to develop supplier relationships and manage cost optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and approves purchase requisitions.
• Identifies suppliers and issues requests for quotations.
• Analyzes and selects suppliers and issues purchase orders.
• Manages supplier relationships to meet material cost, availability and inventory goals.
• Tracks industry trends and their impact on business decisions.
• Supports product development teams as a materials resource.
• Analyzes price discrepancies and works with accounting to maximize margins.
