Job summary

Core & Main is seeking a purchasing professional to manage key materials, parts, supplies and equipment in line with established policies. This role focuses on optimizing price, delivery and terms while identifying and qualifying suppliers and coordinating RFQs.

Responsibilities include reviewing requisitions, issuing RFQs, managing supplier relationships, and expediting purchase orders to support production and inventory goals.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in related discipline; typically 5–8 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 3–5 years of experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and approves purchase requisitions.
• Identifies potential suppliers and issues requests for quotations.
• Analyzes and selects suppliers, issues purchase orders; follows up and expedites as necessary.
• Develops, evaluates and manages supplier relationships to accomplish material cost, availability, and inventory goals.
• Tracks industry trends and their impact on the business.
• Supports production/new production introduction activity.
• Conducts price discrepancy analyses with accounting partnerships to maximize profit margins.
