Job summary

nVent is seeking a procurement professional to manage direct materials, supplier coordination, and inventory for ongoing production. You will leverage ERP systems, including Epicor, to place and monitor POs, maintain data accuracy, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve material-related issues.

The role emphasizes MRP-driven planning, supplier performance, and continuous improvement with up to 10% domestic travel to other nVent sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
• 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related experience.
• Experience in ERP systems; Epicor experience a plus.
• Familiarity with MRP processes and systems.
• Strong organizational, data-analysis, and communication skills.
• Experience with suppliers, purchase orders, inventory, and material planning.

Responsibilities

• Review demand signals, MRP reports, and project requirements to place purchase orders for direct raw materials and components.
• Monitor and maintain open purchase orders with accurate delivery commitments and supplier performance.
• Work with suppliers on pricing, order status, product specs, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Scheduling, Production, Project Management, and other internal teams to resolve material-related questions.
• Maintain purchasing and inventory data in Epicor and other systems.
• Review inventory levels and adjust stock positions to support production and inventory management.
• Identify supply risks and work with suppliers and Strategic Sourcing to implement solutions.
• Resolve supplier issues including shipping discrepancies, damaged goods, invoice mismatches, and non-conforming materials.
• Provide access to material availability and communicate updates to cross-functional teams.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives in purchasing processes and supplier performance.
• Up to 10% travel domestically to other nVent sites.
