Job summary

Celestica, Inc. in Maple Grove, MN is seeking a Buying/Planning Specialist to drive material planning and procurement for one or more product lines.

You will validate supplier quotes, manage BOM data, and coordinate with engineering and production to ensure on-time delivery. With 3–6 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree (APICS preferred), you will analyze supplier performance and optimize material flow while maintaining strong supplier relationships and data accuracy in ERP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• APICS CPIM/CSCP/CLTD preferred but not required.
• Three to six years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Validate supplier quotes against customer POs and resolve discrepancies in invoices.
• Maintain integrity of Item Master data; update quarterly.
• Analyze BOMs for cost competitiveness and coordinate with Eng/PM to validate costed BOMs.
• Consolidate and analyze commitment and performance metrics for supplier effectiveness.
• Plan and procure materials to meet manufacturing build requirements.
• Schedule material delivery to align with customer forecasts.
• Coordinate material requirements from engineering and production schedules.
• Review requisitions, contact vendors, and initiate contracts.
• Initiate purchases via MRP and manage order placement strategy.
• Ensure materials available to meet manufacturing needs.
