The position requires a Master’s degree (or related) with several years of purchasing experience, strong contract knowledge, and proven management abilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of contracting methods pertaining to procurement of goods and services.
• Ability to supervise professional staff and coordinate acquisition activities.
• Experience in interpreting laws and regulations governing state purchases.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates agency acquisition activities and contract specifications.
• Develops and enforces procurement policies ensuring compliance with state laws.
• Represents the agency in meetings concerning purchases and contracts.
• Evaluates program activities and ensures accountability in procurement operations.
