Job summary

Oklahoma Department of Commerce seeks a Contracting & Acquisitions Agent to manage procurement, purchasing, contracting, and acquisitions for state government. The role requires attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to navigate complex regulations.

The position is full-time in Oklahoma City with a salary range of $48,000–$62,000 and a comprehensive benefits package. Certification as a Certified Procurement Officer (CPO) is required within six months of appointment.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 3 years of related administrative support experience.
• A degree/certificate in office management, business, administrative support, or a related area is preferred.
• An equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered.
• Preference may be given to candidates with state government procurement, PeopleSoft, and/or the state purchasing card (P-Card) system.

Responsibilities

• Backup to the Director of Procurement and Purchasing.
• Maintain the official contract file and monitor contractor performance and compliance.
• Coordinate contract amendments and renewals and ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Draft and review specifications and requisitions and determine method of acquisition.
• Represent the agency at meetings and liaise with Central Purchasing.
