Job summary

SpaceX invites a Commercial Counsel to join the Legal Team to support procurement activity across the United States and internationally. You will draft, negotiate, and review a wide range of commercial contracts, advising Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Facilities on complex legal and business issues.

You will identify risks, provide regulatory analyses, and help design processes, policies, and training to streamline procurement while leveraging AI tools to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• JD or foreign equivalent from an accredited law school.
• 5+ years of legal experience.

Responsibilities

• Draft, negotiate, and review commercial contracts including purchase orders/agreements, service agreements, license agreements, long-term supply agreements, NDAs, and other related agreements.
• Identify and mitigate legal risk by implementing appropriate processes, trainings, and controls for the supported SpaceX teams.
• Provide legal analyses of applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices related to procurement of goods and services.
• Work closely with Supply Chain, Purchasing, and Facilities Teams to counsel through all procurement stages, including RFPs, RFQs, purchase agreements, licenses and dispute resolution.
• Manage SpaceX's form Purchase Order and Standard Terms and Conditions.
• Support improvements of forms, policies, and processes to streamline procurements, including using AI and other technologies.
• Work cross-functionally to analyze legal risks, devise creative solutions, and develop trusted advisor relationships.
