Pay Range: Hiring Range: $72,009 - $86,403 Annually | Pay Range: $72,009 - $100,817 Annually
Range Explanation: Hiring Range is an estimate of where you can receive an offer. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, training, and internal equity. Pay Range is the entire compensation range for the position. The Procurement Officer I position is a professional, salaried position within the Materials & Services Division of the Procurement Department. This role requires strong judgment, excellent collaboration skills, and the ability to work independently with various County departments to develop effective specifications that meet their operational needs. Responsibilities include managing the end-to-end solicitation process, drafting contract documents, and ensuring timely processing for approval and execution by the appropriate awarding authority as well as include the establishment and maintenance of contracts, including amendments and renewals, in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and procurement codes. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to fair and ethical procurement practices, support the County’s goals for transparency and fiscal responsibility, and foster respectful, professional relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public administration, business administration, purchasing, materials management, engineering, architecture or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND three years of professional procurement experience related to contract writing, administration, or commodity management. (Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.) OR: Three years of experience with Pima County in a Buyer III, Contract Specialist or related position as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.
