Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Consultant in Procurement Category Management to lead sourcing for multimillion-dollar categories, negotiate contracts, and drive value across Personal, Commercial, and other lines. You will collaborate with Finance, Legal and IT partners, influence strategies, and ensure supplier performance aligns with business goals.

The role emphasizes strong communication, project leadership, and ethical sourcing with opportunities to mentor team members and optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in supply chain, procurement, business, finance, accounting, MIS, economics or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Business Partners, Finance, Technology and Procurement to manage sourcing requests and contract pipelines for multimillion-dollar categories.
• Conduct advanced industry research and establish category strategy for highly technical domains.
• Forecast demand, define service levels, model Total Cost of Ownership, assess risks and drive cost reduction opportunities.
• Facilitate RFP/RFQ/RFI processes, negotiate contract terms and document savings for approvals.
• Assess supplier risk with Information Risk Management and Compliance teams.
• Align category goals with preferred suppliers and sustainability best practices.
• Mentor and train colleagues on procurement policies and processes.
