Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems in Sterling Heights, MI seeks a Procurement Buyer to manage all procurement activities with suppliers and subcontractors for fixed‑price and cost‑reimbursement subcontracts and purchase orders.

You will analyze materials in Oracle, solicit quotes, negotiate terms, and ensure on‑time delivery while coordinating with GDLS program offices and functional teams; occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business; supply chain preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Oracle and related systems.
• Experience in cost/price analysis and write-ups.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
• Strong program management and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient with MS Word/Excel; procurement processes and MRP knowledge.
• Ability to obtain US security clearance if required.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement affairs for fixed-price and cost-reimbursement subcontracts and POs.
• Analyze Oracle system material needs and prepare RFQs/RFPs/RFIs.
• Perform cost and price analyses of proposals and quotes.
• Negotiate proposals to meet program and cost targets.
• Prepare and administer purchase orders; monitor subcontracts.
• Ensure on-time delivery and subcontractor compliance.
• Coordinate with GDLS functional departments and program offices.
• Address quality, design, and payment issues with subcontractors.
• Coordinate Source Selection process and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Review planning to ensure subcontracts/POs are placed within vendor lead-time.
