Job summary

Irwin Seating, a Grand Rapids, MI-based manufacturing company, is seeking a Buyer to drive strategic procurement and supplier collaboration. The role focuses on MRP management, PO processing, and inventory optimization within a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of procurement experience, a Bachelor's degree, and bilingual English/Chinese abilities, with strong data analysis and Excel skills. Domestic/international travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of procurement/purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Must be bilingual in English and Chinese.
• Familiarity with MRP systems and ERP software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and data reporting.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the MRP system to forecast material requirements and align with production schedules.
• Create and issue purchase orders; monitor delivery and resolve discrepancies with finance.
• Monitor inventory levels; identify excess, shortages, or obsolescence; implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality to address supply chain issues.
• Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders and suppliers to optimize procurement.
