Job summary

Old World Industries, LLC. in Northbrook, Illinois, is seeking a Buyer I to procure finished goods and raw materials from global suppliers to support uninterrupted manufacturing and customer demand.

The role manages MRP reviews, PO execution, supplier communication, and expediting while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize inventory and supplier performance. Experience in procurement and SAP is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, buying, or supply chain experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred; global sourcing experience a plus.
• SAP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Procure finished goods and raw materials from global suppliers.
• Execute MRP recommendations, including PO creation, confirmations, and rescheduling.
• Monitor and expedite POs to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Global Sourcing and Transportation to support supplier performance.
• Share forecasts with suppliers to support production planning and inventory management.
• Maintain purchasing and material master data within SAP.
• Partner with Transportation to ensure timely deliveries to manufacturing facilities and customers.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely supplier payments.
• Manage supplier quality issues through NCRs and CARs to minimize supply disruptions.
• Support supplier performance reviews, scorecards, and BRMs.
