Spherion Staffing & Recruiting seeks a Procurement Buyer for a premier manufacturing client in Dakota, IL. You will source, negotiate, and procure essential raw materials and operational supplies, balancing cost efficiency with production demands in a collaborative, team-based environment.

The role requires at least 3 years of manufacturing procurement experience, a degree in a related field (or equivalent experience), and strong Excel and ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of purchasing or procurement experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Issue blanket purchase orders for raw materials and supplies.
• Manage vendor release schedules to meet production needs.
• Monitor forecasts to calculate material needs and control inventory.
• Procure and stock non-stock supplies, equipment, and consumables.
• Administer inventories and minimize waste from expiring stock.
• Communicate potential shortages with procurement and operations teams.
