Job summary

Dahl Consulting in Saint Cloud, MN is seeking a Buyer to join our manufacturing procurement team. This role focuses on sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and negotiating favorable pricing to support production and supply chain operations.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of industrial purchasing experience, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and proficiency with ERP systems (SAP preferred).

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of purchasing experience in industrial/manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Strong organizational and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify prospective suppliers and sourcing opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal teams and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Evaluate products and suppliers based on quality, pricing, delivery, and business needs.
• Prepare proposals, request quotes, negotiate contracts, and secure cost-effective purchasing agreements.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and supplier agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve vendor-related concerns.
• Inspect and evaluate purchased materials and address quality issues as needed.
• Analyze market trends and demand patterns to support sourcing strategies.
• Maintain accurate procurement, inventory, vendor, and material records.
• Follow up with vendors regarding pricing, lead times, and purchasing questions.
• Maintain master data including delivery schedules, order quantities, and supplier terms.
• Work closely with planning and production departments to support operational efficiency.
