Job summary

USA Rare Earth, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Buyer to support company-wide procurement, including inventory replenishment, service and material purchases, and related agreements.

The role handles the end-to-end process from RFQ to PO issuance to goods receipt while aligning with procurement best practices. You will help develop SOPs, collaborate across departments, and ensure sourcing at the right time and best value, addressing evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field; experience may substitute.
• Experience with inventory, indirect procurement, vendor communication, and PO lifecycle.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using ERP or purchasing systems (MS BC, Dynamics 365, NetSuite, SAP) and Excel/Smartsheet.
• Knowledge of contract terms and vendor onboarding processes.
• Proficient in record keeping and documentation practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Commitment to delivering best value and procurement integrity.

Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement lifecycle from RFQ to PO issuance and goods receipt.
• Procure inventory items, office supplies, services, and small equipment.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to forecast needs.
• Enter POs accurately and maintain vendor data per policies.
• Develop and implement procurement SOPs and approval workflows.
• Maintain procurement records for audit and SOX compliance.
• Monitor supplier performance and lead times.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and consolidate vendors.
• Coordinate with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Support receiving and continuous procurement process improvements.
• Serve cross-functionally with operations, engineering, finance, and admin.
• Travel to facility locations as needed.
