Job summary

Timberlyne Group in the United States (Texas) is seeking a buyer/procurement professional to oversee supplier relationships, negotiate terms, and manage purchase orders and inventory. You will collaborate with staff across departments to forecast needs, drive cost reductions, and implement procurement strategies aligned with budget.

Ideal candidates have strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills, experience with ERP systems (Visual by Infor) and MS Office, and the ability to lift

Qualifications

• Knowledge of purchasing practices and ability to learn company's ERP software platform (Visual by Infor).
• Strong communications skills with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization.
• 2+ years of buyer/procurement experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
• Bachelor's degree preferred in related fields.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain current inventory and ensure stock levels are appropriate.
• Develop relationships with strategic suppliers and serve as primary contact for negotiations.
• Prepare and implement effective procurement strategies to purchase materials cost-effectively while maintaining quality.
• Approve and issue purchase orders per policy and negotiated terms, tracking activity.
• Handle correspondence about over-shipments, delivery issues, and price changes with affected departments.
• Coordinate purchase orders with logistics for delivery.
• Research and onboard new suppliers and maintain preferred vendor lists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
