Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Procurement Specialist to manage day-to-day purchasing activities and collaborate with supply chain management to handle shortages, delays, and obsolescence. The role involves cost analysis, vendor negotiation, and improving the purchasing process.

The candidate will communicate with engineers and production teams to align on BOMs, track supplier performance, and ensure policy compliance. ITAR/EAR considerations apply.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ purchasing/procurement experience in Military and Aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Purchasing materials and supplies to support company objectives and ensure compliance with company policy, contractual flow downs and local laws.
• Prioritizing purchasing activities based on schedule and lead time
• Reviewing engineering/costed BOMs to ensure the purchasing information is up to date
• Managing suppliers and ensure schedule is on track
• Supporting make vs buy decision via cost analysis
• Coordinating non-conformance with Quality and ask vendors for their root cause analysis.
• Supporting outsourcing, supplier qualification and supplier selection
• Negotiating price, payment terms, lead time and long-term agreements.
• Working with engineering and production for purchasing/productionizing prototype BOMs
• Communicating with management such as shorts, delays, or component obsolescence surface
• Coordinating with accounting to ensure compliance with billing and taxation
• Communicating across all levels of the organization and working with multidisciplinary teams
