Job summary

Cardinal Health seeks a seasoned privacy professional to lead and advise on enterprise privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance. You will partner with executives, IT, and business teams to implement privacy programs and respond to incidents.

The role requires a JD, bar license, and deep knowledge of HIPAA, state privacy laws, and GDPR familiarity. Remote nationwide, with strong stakeholder engagement and strategic impact.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in privacy, data security, or related law fields.
• Juris Doctorate required; active bar license in OH or another state.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. privacy and cybersecurity laws, including HIPAA and state laws.

Responsibilities

• Advise on privacy issues, data protection, retention, usage, security, and breaches with business leaders and counsel.
• Review and negotiate privacy-related agreements (DPA, BAA, etc.).
• Advise on incident response and data breach reporting with VP of Privacy.
• Coordinate with IT Security for privacy/compliance alignment.
• Provide practical, business-focused privacy guidance across cross-functional teams.
• Assist with regulatory inquiries related to privacy and data security.
• Advise on privacy training program design and delivery.
• Stay updated on privacy developments at state, federal and international levels.
• Support privacy aspects of acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
