Job summary

Cardinal Health seeks an experienced privacy attorney to lead privacy and data protection initiatives within the Legal Management function. You will advise business leaders, negotiate privacy agreements and oversee incident response and regulatory inquiries.

You will collaborate with IT Security, stay current on HIPAA, state and international privacy laws, and support M&A activities as privacy counsel.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of experience, preferred.
• Juris Doctorate degree required.
• License to practice law in Ohio or active bar license in another state.
• Extensive knowledge of U.S. privacy and cybersecurity laws, regulations, and standards (HIPAA, state privacy laws).
• Knowledge of GDPR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise business leaders on privacy issues including data protection, data retention, data usage, data security and data breaches.
• Review and negotiate data privacy, data processing, and business associate agreements.
• Advise on incident response and data breach reporting processes.
