Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a pricing analyst to execute pricing strategies at the distribution center level, supporting margin goals and local go-to-market plans. You will manage area DSBC opportunities, review deviations, and respond to price approvals.

You will analyze bids for local customers, support sales teams, and utilize Merlin and pricing databases to drive accurate pricing decisions. Collaboration with district sales is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree, or minimum 3 years of pricing experience required.
• Pricing experience within foodservice or food manufacturing companies highly desired.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills required.
• Proven experience working with and supporting sales teams.
• Strong business acumen and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to access information within established pricing databases and/or analyze data from analysts.
• Knowledge of the PRIME pricing system highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Execute pricing strategy at the distribution center level to support margin goals and local “Go to Market” strategy.
• Identify margin improvement opportunities by managing the area-wide Daily Sales Below Cost (DSBC) process.
• Review and manage price deviations and exceptions for Territory Managers aligned to the designated distribution center.
• Evaluate requests for commission-based adjustments, self-funded deviations, and price approvals.
• Answer pricing queries escalated from Sales and other US Foods employees.
• Analyze and develop pricing recommendations to support bids for local customers and conduct special pricing reviews for new customer acquisition.
• Manage the area DSBC reporting process and identify costing errors.
• Execute weekly promotional pricing in the designated distribution center.
• Monitor and report on margin and market pricing.
• Work with District Sales Managers on auditing ongoing local self-funded deviations.
• Utilize Merlin to identify product and category opportunities for pricing strategies.
• Complete ad-hoc pricing analysis as required.
• Manage and upload exceptions for vendor price lists from local/regional suppliers.
• Maintain customer pricing rationale backup for the area.
