Job summary

TMC Transportation, Inc., the nation’s largest employee-owned open-deck carrier, seeks a Pricing Analyst in Des Moines, IA to manage spot market quotes, RFP submissions, and rate analytics for asset-based freight. You will work with Sales, Operations, and Finance to keep pricing competitive and profitable.

As part of a fast-paced team, you’ll monitor pricing performance, prepare rate-change reports, and contribute to strategic pricing decisions to drive business growth and customer value.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in asset-based pricing within the transportation industry, or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in asset-based pricing or transportation rate analysis, with preference given to flatbed or specialized freight operations.
• Proven track record of working with pricing models, RFPs, and rate negotiation in asset-based transportation environments.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Spot Market Rate Quotes: Prepare and deliver spot quotes based on customer requests, considering factors such as market conditions, internal cost structures, and market rate data.
• RFP Management: Review and organize RFP checklists for customer bids, gather required bid documentation, and ensure pre-bid processes are completed.
• Data Management & Reporting: Track RFP awards, spot quotes, and revenue; develop regular reporting for rate changes and customer feedback.
• Collaboration & Strategic Input: Work with Sales, Operations, Finance to align pricing strategies with company goals and customer needs, and participate in pricing strategy meetings.
