Job summary

County of Los Angeles is seeking an Emergency Health Program Analyst III to support homelessness-related data initiatives. The role focuses on defining data needs, sourcing relevant datasets, and building predictive analytics to inform policy and operations.

You will collaborate with multiple departments to ensure data-driven decision making and scalable data solutions. The position involves end-to-end data modeling, visualization, and communicating findings to program managers and executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in data-related field with coursework in data science or statistics.
• OR Master’s/Doctoral degree in data science, ML or statistics.
• Four years of experience in ML, predictive analytics, data management, and hypothesis-driven analysis.

Responsibilities

• Define data needs and requirements for data science projects at multiple levels.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify data sources.
• Develop data pipelines and ensure data quality for analysis.
• Digest, prepare, and visualize data using programming languages.
• Lead end-to-end predictive modeling projects from exploration to deployment.
• Create dashboards and reports for enterprise stakeholders.
• Apply supervised ML techniques to business problems and tune models.
• Write queries and manage data cleaning and integration across sources.
• Coordinate with teams to design analytics-enabled products and processes.
• Pursue ongoing training to stay current with industry techniques.
