Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Preconstruction Manager in Detroit to lead estimating and preconstruction from early concept through GMP, partnering with operations and business development to ensure accurate pricing, risk management, and a smooth handoff.

You will shape project strategy across commercial, industrial, healthcare and institutional work, collaborate with ownership and trade partners, and manage a disciplined preconstruction process with a strong backlog and minimal travel.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in preconstruction and/or estimating.
• Background with a general contractor or construction manager.
• Experience across commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
• Strong understanding of conceptual estimating and GMP development.
• Ability to lead, communicate, and build trust with internal teams and trade partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle preconstruction and estimating efforts.
• Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates.
• Manage subcontractor outreach, scope review, and leveling.
• Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Collaborate with operations during project transition.
• Support client presentations and preconstruction meetings.
