Job summary

Jobot in Detroit seeks a Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating and preconstruction from concept through GMP, partnering with operations and business development to ensure accurate pricing, risk management, and smooth project handoff for negotiated and hard-bid work.

You will develop estimates from conceptual to detailed, oversee subcontractor outreach, and contribute to value engineering while maintaining strong client relations and a commitment to quality results.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in preconstruction and/or estimating.
• Background with a general contractor or construction manager.
• Experience across commercial, industrial, healthcare, or institutional projects.
• Strong understanding of conceptual estimating and GMP development.
• Ability to lead, communicate, and build trust with internal teams and trade partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle preconstruction and estimating efforts
• Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates
• Manage subcontractor outreach, scope review, and leveling
• Participate in value engineering and constructability reviews
