Job summary

Brasfield & Gorrie in Nashville seeks a Preconstruction Manager to lead estimating activities across complex projects. You will develop estimates from conceptual through final design and coordinate with operations, marketing, and virtual design teams.

Responsibilities include coordinating delivery methods (hard bid, GMP, design-build, IPD), leading estimate reviews, visiting jobsites for accuracy, and mentoring junior estimators.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• 3–10 years of estimating and/or project management experience.
• Industrial, healthcare, or mission-critical construction experience preferred.
• Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills; technical writing and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex estimating assignments across multiple projects.
• Develop estimates from conceptual through final design with benchmarks and value analysis.
• Understand and execute multiple delivery methods (hard bid, GMP, design-build, IPD).
• Collaborate with operations on fees, staffing, and schedules; coordinate with Scheduling Department.
• Lead estimate reviews with project management, design team, and owners; visit jobsites for accuracy.
• Develop subcontractor and supplier relationships; assist with proposal preparation.
• Mentor less experienced estimators and gather historical data for future estimates.
