Job summary

RK Mechanical seeks a Director of Preconstruction to lead budgeting, estimating, and pursuit activities for complex commercial, industrial, healthcare, and data center projects in Phoenix. You’ll align design development with constructability and customer relationships, guiding pursuits from concept to award.

You will influence major project decisions, develop high-performing teams, and drive continuous improvement across estimating processes, reporting to executive leadership and partnering

Qualifications

• 10+ years in preconstruction or related leadership roles.
• Experience leading large-scale preconstruction for mechanical construction, industrial, healthcare, or data center environments.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and client–designer collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, estimating, design development, and project pursuit activities.
• Partner with operations, engineering, customers, and stakeholders to develop winning strategies.
• Oversee estimates from conceptual through construction document stages.
• Track scope, budget, trends, and design changes in preconstruction.
• Lead contract scope reviews, value engineering, and risk assessments.
• Support Design-Build and Design-Assist projects with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners.
• Ensure proposals and preconstruction deliverables reflect project requirements.
• Support business development and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
• Drive continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools.
