Job summary

FirstEnergy in Cumberland, MD is seeking a Lines Planner/Scheduler to manage short-range planning and scheduling of electrical maintenance and construction work. The role supports operations supervision, optimizing work flow and resource utilization while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field or 3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline + 1–2 years related work experience; or 3 years in lieu of degree.
Proficient in communicating with engineers, management, customers, contractors, and the public.
Able to multitask and balance competing priorities and schedules.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate commitment to safety in all activities.
Plan and schedule activities, manage work queue, staffing, equipment, materials, and tools.
Adjust schedules daily based on resource availability and external conditions.
Dispatch and schedule crews using CLICK and related systems.
Coordinate with internal/external customers on construction and maintenance activities.
Develop two-week and one-month plans for operations center activities.
Provide management with status updates and performance metrics.
Collaborate with planning to align work with budget and forecast hours.
Attend regulatory training and provide day-to-day supervision support.
