Job summary

The International Rescue Committee in the United States seeks a Strategy and Planning Senior Officer to lead strategic planning and prioritization for the Policy & Advocacy team. The role will coordinate organization-wide strategy, collaborate with the VP, and manage cross-functional processes across IRC.

Responsibilities include developing actionable policy strategies, facilitating cross-team collaboration, and guiding KPI development and progress reporting. Hybrid work with travel optional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Political Science or related field.
• 5-6 years work experience, experience in policy and advocacy preferred
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, including juggling competing priorities and tight deadlines
• Fluency in English with strong writing and editing skills
• Familiarity with humanitarian aid sector, foreign policy, and/or refugee issues

Responsibilities

• Translate organization-wide strategy into department strategies and advocacy priorities.
• Develop actionable policy and advocacy strategies with units and markets.
• Facilitate cross-team collaboration and update ways of working.
• Oversee long-term projects like annual planning and quarterly pauses.
