Job summary

The State of Rhode Island's Department of Children, Youth, and Families seeks an Assistant Chief of Planning to lead statewide planning efforts and supervise a multidisciplinary team. The role focuses on agency priority projects, strategic initiatives, and cross-functional coordination to meet milestones and compliance requirements.

The candidate will develop technical procedures, set standards, monitor progress, and represent the department before state agencies and the public.

Qualifications

• Master's degree as stated or equivalent.
• Extensive supervisory experience in planning or policy development.
• Ability to plan, organize and execute complex multi-disciplinary projects.
• Ability to build effective relationships with officials and the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief in planning, supervising, directing and coordinating the work of a planning staff.
• Supervise and review staff work, develop plans and annual reports.
• Represent the agency before boards, commissions and the public to describe role and plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional efforts and monitor milestones and deliverables.
