Job summary

Valcor Engineering Corporation is seeking a Jr. Planner/Buyer to support planning and purchasing by analyzing inventory, issuing POs, tracking deliveries, and communicating with suppliers.

Responsibilities include maintaining stock levels, supporting production needs, and contributing to cost-effective procurement decisions using the MRP/ERP system. The role requires collaboration across Procurement, Receiving, Manufacturing, and Shipping to meet schedules and customer delivery commitments.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in a fast-paced precision production environment preferred.
• Knowledge of production control systems and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of MRP/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor).
• Familiarity with AS9100, ISO 9001, and supplier quality management beneficial.
• Understanding of FAR/DFARS and government contracting principles beneficial.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Route and expedite materials to ensure uninterrupted flow of projects.
• Revise and reschedule orders to meet team priorities.
• Prepare reports tracking material movements for project updates.
• Collaborate with area owners to support deliverables.
• Prioritize schedules to avoid delays and keep high-priority jobs moving.
• Report production issues or irregularities to planners.
• Update jobs due to scrap and engineering revisions to stay current.
• Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency.
• Coordinate schedules and reports with planning, assembly, and inventory teams.
• Follow up on late shipments and resolve supply issues.
