Job summary

Gilman Partners is seeking a Philanthropic Specialist to join the philanthropy team. You will partner with family members and senior leaders to translate philanthropic goals into action, gaining broad exposure to governance, grantmaking, and client service.

The role reports to the Director of Philanthropy and involves planning, engagement, and collaboration across teams. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in philanthropy or related foundations work, strong client communication, and experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Credentials such as CAP, 21/64, or CTFA preferred.
• 3+ years in philanthropy or related foundation/tax-exempt work.
• Experience with a Grant Management System.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio of relationships.
• Experience with complex grant making in a high-net-worth context.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage individual giving strategic plans.
• Support grant committees and signature programs.
• Contribute to Foundation meetings with strategic insights.
• Coordinate with leadership on family presentations.
• Support philanthropy team initiatives and events.
• Engage family members in philanthropic education and activities.
• Collaborate with relationship managers across tax and wealth teams.
• Participate in meetings and travel with family members as needed.
