Job summary

Grady Health System in Atlanta is seeking a Pharmacy Supply Chain Specialist to obtain services at the lowest cost while meeting quality and delivery standards. You will prepare procurement instruments and ensure actions align with Grady Health System policies to support the hospital's operations.

You will lead RFP processes, review orders for cost-effective drug options, and manage purchase orders from wholesalers and specialty pharmacies, ensuring timely payments and accurate receiving records

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in business, finance, supply chain or healthcare related field.
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, supply chain or health care related field preferred.
• Three or more years of experience in pharmacy, supply chain or health care.

Responsibilities

• Assures replenishment stock orders transmitted to drug wholesaler from dispensing sites.
• Assists with and facilitates preparation of Request for Proposal (RFPs).
• Leads RFP process including facilitating technical review team and contract award recommendation as assigned.
• Reviews orders to ensure cost-effective drug option and appropriate quantities for purchase; determines alternatives when primary product unavailable.
• Arranges shipment from other wholesaler divisions to assure product availability.
• Inputs and processes return drug authorizations.
• Prepares and submits orders to drug wholesaler in accordance with 340B split software vendor.
• Creates purchase orders, performs item maintenance and reconciles receiving documents in PeopleSoft.
• Manages purchase orders to specialty pharmacy compounders and REM specialty pharmacies; reconciles with AP.
