Job summary

Mercedes-Benz USA is seeking a People Consultant (HR Business Partner) to serve as a strategic partner to designated business areas. You will coach leaders, mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and drive initiatives that position the company as an employer of choice.

The role focuses on employee relations, workforce planning, investigations, and talent development, with travel and onsite presence as needed. A BA/BS in HR or related field and 5–7 years HR experience are typical prerequisites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive HR experience.
• Experience in HR Business Partnering, Employee Relations, and Organizational Development or Learning & Development.
• Strong knowledge across Compensation & Benefits, Employee Relations, Talent Management, and HRIS.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to navigate complex organizations and influence leaders.

Responsibilities

• Advise leaders on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, coaching, policy interpretation, and disciplinary actions.
• Assess workforce trends and translate insights into workforce strategies and leadership actions.
• Conduct investigations into harassment, discrimination, and workplace violence claims.
• Coordinate employment-related legal actions with Corporate Security, Business Practices Office, and Legal.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, ISO standards, and internal policies.
• Provide guidance on organizational structure, job banding, headcount planning, and job descriptions.
• Lead change management consultation, including communications and transition planning.
• Prepare reports and support audits and compliance reviews related to People programs.
• Coordinate and facilitate training sessions on People policies and processes.
• Advise on talent strategy including succession planning and leadership development.
• Act as trusted advisor to managers and employees and align with People initiatives.
• Partner with PSC and GFT to align people strategies and standardized processes.
• Serve as strategic organizational consultant translating trends into actionable strategies.
