Job summary

Mercedes-Benz USA is seeking a People Consultant (HR Business Partner) to serve as strategic and operational partner to designated business areas. You will coach leaders, mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and drive initiatives that support the company as an employer of choice.

Responsibilities include advising on employee relations, workforce planning, investigations, and change management, while aligning people policies with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Management, Communications, or related field.
• 5–7 years of progressive HR experience including HR business partnering, employee relations, and compliance.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles across compensation & benefits, talent management, and HRIS.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills with ability to build trust quickly.

Responsibilities

• Advise leaders on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, coaching, policy interpretation, and disciplinary actions.
• Assess workforce trends and translate insights into workforce strategies, headcount planning, succession considerations, and capability assessments.
• Conduct investigations into harassment, discrimination, hostile work environment, and workplace violence claims.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, ISO standards, audits, and internal People policies.
• Provide guidance on organizational structure, job banding, headcount planning, and job descriptions.
• Lead consultation activities associated with organizational change management, including communications and transition planning.
