Job summary

T-Mobile is seeking a Senior Analyst for Payment Strategy to leverage data analytics and strategic thinking to optimize the customer payment experience while managing risk and cost. You will partner with Product, Finance, Technology, Risk, Fraud, and Operations to translate complex data into clear business insights for executive decisions.

The role emphasizes solving ambiguous problems, handling large data sets, and balancing customer experience with strong business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of related work experience or equivalent
• Preferred fields: Business, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics
• 2–4 years experience with written communication and presentation skills
• 2–4 years experience with strategy and problem solving in framing complex problems
• 2–4 years experience data analytics and financial modeling
• Experience with SQL and cloud data platforms like Snowflake
• Experience with consumer payments, fraud, payment processing, or financial services
• Strong analytical thinking and executive communication

Responsibilities

• Analyze large customer payment datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Investigate payment behaviors across payment methods, customer segments, and channels.
• Identify root causes of payment failures, losses, and customer friction.
• Evaluate strategies that improve payment approvals while minimizing payment losses and fraud.
• Build business cases supported by quantitative analysis and scenario modeling.
• Develop queries and leverage Snowflake to extract, analyze, and validate data.
• Build financial models, dashboards, and 'what-if' analyses to support strategic decisions.
• Present analysis and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
• Monitor payment industry trends, emerging technologies, customer behaviors, and competitor capabilities.
