Job summary

MaineHealth Corporate seeks a Contract Manager to lead the development, implementation and ongoing management of payer contracts across MaineHealth and the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization (MHACO).

The role drives optimal reimbursement, strengthens relationships with payers, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to support the system's financial and operational objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in managed care contracting, provider relations, or payer relations within a hospital system, physician organization, or health plan.
• Strong understanding of healthcare reimbursement methodologies (e.g., DRG, APC, fee-for-service, value-based care). Demonstrated experience in negotiating and managing complex payer contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage commercial fee-for-service and value-based payer contracts across MaineHealth and MHACO.
• Support optimal reimbursement and competitive positioning through contract analysis and negotiation.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to align payer relations with financial and operational objectives.
