Job summary

Vanderbilt Executive Education seeks a Director of Business Development to drive growth by cultivating strategic relationships with corporate and organizational leaders in the Nashville region. You will identify learning needs, advise on executive education engagements, and guide clients from initial discussions to tailored programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Experience building strategic business relationships with senior executives.
• Strong communication, presentation, and proposal development skills.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel regionally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and cultivate long-term relationships with corporate, nonprofit, healthcare, and public-sector organizations to expand Vanderbilt Executive Education's market presence.
• Engage senior executives and organizational leaders in consultative conversations to identify priorities and leadership challenges.
• Lead proposal development and coordinate internal stakeholders to align with academic priorities and client expectations.
• Manage CRM records, engage with clients, and ensure timely follow-up across the engagement lifecycle.
• Represent Vanderbilt Executive Education at external events and professional associations to build visibility and opportunities.
