Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking an Operations Training Manager to design, lead, and continuously improve training programs for G&P operations across the Permian Basin. You will develop rotational programs for developmental technicians and align training with career ladders while partnering with HR to recruit and retain talent.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a midstream operational discipline (plant/field/maintenance/I&E/measurement).
• Experience developing technical training programs.
• Experience facilitating classroom and field-based learning.
• Experience leading projects or workforce initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability and willingness to travel to other domestic operating areas outside the Permian.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and support developmental technicians through a structured rotational program building skills, knowledge, and field readiness.
• Partner with HR and Trade Schools to develop recruiting strategies including onboarding and early career development.
• Translate standards, procedures, specifications, and lessons learned into training materials and learning paths.
• Provide input on standards and lessons learned to improve messaging and absorption rates.
• Coordinate technical training assignments for all G&P operations technicians in collaboration with supervisors.
• Identify current and future talent needs and translate into scalable development solutions with leadership alignment.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence across G&P operations.
• Align training programs with the published career ladder to advance career development.
• Coordinate external partnerships, vendors, and industry organizations to deliver training and certifications.
