Job summary

Buckeye Partners seeks a Lead, Operations Training & Technical Development to design, lead, and continuously improve our operations training programs. You will partner with operations, COE, HR, safety, and compliance to define competencies and ensure readiness across the workforce.

The role requires 10+ years in operations, maintenance, or training within midstream energy, strong organizational and analytical skills, and up to 30% travel to field locations.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or Training and Development.
• 10+ years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, regulatory compliance or training.
• Strong understanding of organizational development, training methodologies, and adult learning principles.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
• Travel to field locations may be required (~30%).

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and refine Buckeye’s technical development program for Operations.
• Collaborate with operations, COE, HR, safety, and compliance to define competencies and identify training needs.
• Build and maintain a competency-based training framework aligned with HR processes.
• Support technical development planning, skill alignment, and field operations development.
• Ensure training supports operational requirements and strengthens performance.
• Provide insights to leadership on workforce capability trends and skill development.
