Job summary

University of California, San Francisco seeks an Operations and HR Manager for the Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) at ZSFG. This role oversees administrative services across IT, facilities, contracts, finance and human resources, guiding daily operations and strategic initiatives to support a busy academic department.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer and Division Chief, the incumbent leads a small team, ensures compliance, mentors staff, and drives process improvements to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Minimum 5 years of related experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a lead/supervisor/manager.
• Solid knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and / or personnel management within labor contract(s) and personnel policy.
• Solid knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs.
• Solid interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others.
• Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions.
• Solid organizational and customer service skills to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; accounting and payroll.
• Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration.

Responsibilities

• Supervise administrative services including IT, facilities, student services, contracts and grants, budgetary financial management and / or human resources.
• Provide strategic guidance and day-to-day supervision to professional staff.
• Interpret policies and manage resources to align with department goals and objectives.
• Partner with leadership to plan and implement processes, improve efficiency and ensure compliance.
