Job summary

Echo Engineering in Indianapolis, IN is seeking an Operations Manager or Director of Operations to lead our manufacturing and warehouse teams. This role reports to the COO and is responsible for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, inventory control, and people development.

You will manage production schedules, implement continuous improvement, control costs, and develop mid-term strategies and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in business, operations, or engineering is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a high-mix production and warehouse environment with at least 10 operators.
• Experience implementing 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement principles.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/MRP software; MRP implementation is a plus.
• ISO 9001:2015 experience and ability to drive KPIs in safety, quality, productivity, and inventory.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Indianapolis facility within budget and safety/quality/delivery targets.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop production and warehouse teams; ensure safety and inventory requirements.
• Manage daily production schedules and staff assignments; assist with execution of tasks as needed.
• Provide root-cause corrective actions and drive continuous improvement across safety, quality, and productivity.
• Develop and maintain compliance across Quality, Safety, and Productivity; manage material/inventory flow.
• Troubleshoot processes; support operators to optimize efficiency; support QA inspections and PPAP.
• Own tool management program and coordinate cross-functional inventory control.
• Lead cross-functional efforts in S&OP, new product introduction, and ISO management review.
