Job summary

Sound Income Strategies (SIS) is seeking a Director of Operations to lead operational strategy and execution for our Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) business in Fort Lauderdale. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and guides the Operations team to deliver accurate, scalable processes that support advisors and clients.

The role combines executive partnership, billing controls, data analytics, and technology ownership to optimize workflows and improve advisor experience.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years leading business operations in a regulated environment.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership to execute strategic initiatives.
• Experience overseeing billing, financial controls, QA, audits, or transaction-based operations.
• Experience implementing scalable solutions to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Experience leading enterprise projects or technology-driven process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary operational partner to the COO on strategic initiatives, planning, and growth.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Operations team, fostering accountability and high performance.
• Oversee billing oversight, audits, and client compensation reporting; ensure accuracy.
• Own the firm's fee billing process and reliability of monthly/adhoc billing.
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve processes.
• Partner with Compliance, Finance, Legal, Risk, and leadership on audits and initiatives.
• Own SME for Orion, Black Diamond, and internal platforms; drive tech initiatives.
