Job summary

Montgomery County is seeking a Business Analyst to perform administrative, systems, statistical and other analyses to support department operations under general supervision. Responsibilities include data gathering, research, reporting, workflow studies, and assisting in policy development.

The role may involve supervision and, as assigned, duties in Purchasing, Human Resources, Environmental Services, Facilities, IT and the Office of Strategic Initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Under general supervision, performs administrative, systems and other business analyses in support of department operations.
• May supervise as needed and assists in development of department goals by analyzing operations.
• Gathers data and prepares research, administrative or fiscal reports and publications, surveys, analyzes results, and proposes actions to improve economy, efficiency and services.
• Assists in analyzing organization and functioning of units, workflows, forms, records and files; conducts work flow studies or time and cost analyses.
• Coordinates testing according to project requirements, ensuring issues are resolved; aids end users in learning word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, databases and intranet services.
• Analyzes data on trends, workforce utilization, staffing patterns and training; plans, coordinates and monitors department programs and processes; provides technical assistance on administrative and analytical matters.
• Provides various duties as required by management.
