Job summary

UCLA Facilities Management is seeking a Senior Manager, Operations Accounting to join the Finance department. You will guide accounting and financial operations, reinforcing internal controls and delivering strategic insights to senior leadership.

This role requires advanced accounting expertise, leadership, and the ability to manage complex budgets, reporting, and fund accounting across facilities operations in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• Proven expertise in strategic leadership and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
• Advanced HR management including feedback, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting theories, practices, and robust financial controls.
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate budgets, diagnose issues, and report trends.
• Proficient use of software tools and complex spreadsheets for data-driven decisions.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize competing demands.
• Excellent executive-level communication to distill data into clear recommendations.
• Advanced accounting and statistical expertise for budgeting and forecasting.
• Knowledge of fund accounting principles for compliance and reporting.
• Familiarity with Facilities Management funding sources and restrictions.
• Strong task and project management to lead initiatives end-to-end.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting/finance/business (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic financial operations and internal controls for Facilities Management.
• Provide mentorship and build a high-performing accounting team.
• Develop detailed financial reports identifying trends and opportunities.
• Oversee budget monitoring, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Manage fund accounting and GL system usage for accuracy.
• Communicate findings to senior leadership with clarity and diplomacy.
